The Bank disbursed R$ 55.1 billion from January to October
The Agriculture and Infrastructure sectors stand out
Finame had R$ 16 billion disbursed, 11% more than in 2017
The Northeast region maintains a 19% growth and receives R$ 10.1 billion
The disbursements of the Brazilian Social and Economic Development Bank (BNDES) kept growing in relation to the participation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, which, with R$ 23.6 billion, accounted for 42.9% of the disbursements between January and October 2017. The sum of all disbursements this year is R$ 55.1 billion.
The energy industry has also expanded, with a 43% growth in disbursements, R$ 10.1 billion corresponding to this year, and approvals that add up to a total of R$ 12.1 billion, a 182% increase from January to October 2017.
Agriculture accounted for 21.3% of BNDES’ disbursements up to October 2017, a 9% growth in the ten months of this year, compared with the same period in 2016, and reached R$ 11.7 billion. The last twelve months considered, this growth corresponds to 14%, with R$ 14.8 billion disbursed in the period between November 2016 and October 2017.
Finame – The Finame line, intended for the financing of machines and equipment, disbursed R$ 16 billion from January to October this year, 11% more than in the same period of 2016. In the last 12 months, R$ 19.2 billion has already been disbursed. Finame can be seen as an important gauge of economic activity and projects growth, since the approvals, the last stage before contracting and disbursement, reached R$ 18.2 billion, from January to October 2017, a 25% expansion in comparison with the same period of 2016.
Working capital – The BNDES Giro credit line reached R$ 5.5 billion in 2017, an increase of 252% in relation to the same period last year. In 12 months, the line created to meet the need for working capital of enterprises, disbursed R$ 6.6 billion, amount 211% higher than the one corresponding to the 12 months between November 2016 and October 2017.
Regional – The Northeast appears prominently in the regional distribution of resources disbursed by BNDES in 2017, with a 19% increase in disbursements, reaching R$ 10.1 billion. In approvals for the Northeast, BNDES registered growth of 117% between January and October, with R$ 10.2 billion. The decline in disbursements was lower in the North (−9%) and Midwest (−12%), and more relevant in the Southeast (−33%) and South (−21%) regions. However, the South region showed a 3% growth in approvals registered this year, with R$ 14.8 billion.
Aggregated data – Inquiries are the first phase of credit analysis and, between January and October 2017, they reached R$ 81.5 billion, which is 14% less than in the first ten months of 2016. Despite the fall compared to the same period last year, the curves of the remaining phases of the operation remain the same as that which had been observed in previous months.
The eligibilities of BNDES’ operations — which include the phase of receiving of requests — reached R$ 73.4 billion between January and September 2017, 11% less than the same period of 2016. In the last 12 months, eligibilities totaled R$ 89.8 billion, 17% less than what was registered for the period between October 2016 and September 2017.
BNDES registered R$ 54 billion in approvals and R$ 55 billion in disbursements between January and October 2017, a 13% and 20% decrease, respectively, when compared to the same period last year. In the last 12 months, approvals registered R$ 71.1 billion (-21%) and disbursements, R$ 74.4 billion (-25%).
