Graduated in Economics from the University of São Paulo (USP) and PhD in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with several publications in the area of industry and innovation. He was a special advisor to the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education. He was Director of Planning and Management of the Brazilian Industrial Research and Innovation Company (Embrapii), Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Development Association (ABDE) and President of Embrapii. From January 2023, he took over as the BNDES Director of Productive Development, Innovation and Foreign Trade.
