Walter Baère de Araújo Filho graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro – PUCRJ, with postgraduate degrees in Public Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro – UERJ and in Tax Law from the Brazilian Institute of Tax Studies – IBET. He is a PHD student in Public Law at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. 

He is Federal Prosecutor of the General Advocacy of the Union, having held positions in high federal administration. He was Legal Consultant and Executive Secretary at the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management. At the Ministry of Mines and Energy, was Special Advisor to the Minister. He was Chairman of the Administration Council of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development – BNDES and member of the Administration Council of brazilian’s state company Eletrobras.

Since February 2023, he is Legal Director of BNDES.
