Martin Adolph is a Study Group Advisor with the ITU, the United Nations’ specialized agency for information and communications technologies. He is coordinating ITU’s standardization activities related to network performance, quality of service, and quality of experience; and in the field of distributed ledger technology and blockchain. Martin holds diplomas in Computer Science from TU Dresden and in Engineering from École Centrale Paris.
Dr Gladstone Arantes holds a doctorate in distributed algorithms from COPPE/UFRJ and has more than 20 years of experience in the IT field, working for BNDES and as a professor. Dr Arantes is the technical leader of the blockchain initiatives in BNDES and a member of the work group about blockchain of the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban). Speaker and co-author of academic articles, he also writes for specialized sites and acted as a judge in the MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge.
Isabella Frajhof is a Researcher at PUC-Rio. Master on Theory of State and Constitutional Law at PUC-Rio. She is particularly interested on the areas of Blockchain, Smart Contracts, Data Protection Regulations, Artificial Intelligence, and how new technologies will impact fundamental rights, as well a PhD candidate.
Dr. Srinivas Yanamandra is Chief of Compliance at the New Development Bank. He has around 18 years of experience as a compliance officer in Indian banking industry with hands-on expertise. At NDB, Srinivas is responsible for operationalizing the compliance function, monitoring the implementation of compliance policy framework and institutionalizing the compliance culture across the organization. He is also spearheading the initiative of tracking the regulatory developments across BRICS member countries in the area of fintech and digital economy.
Suzana Maranhão is a member of the BNDES blockchain team and the leader of use case in the ITU DLT focus group. She writes and evaluates technical articles on DLT. She performed many roles in business process management and IT developing projects involving up to billions of USD in the last 15 years. She is master in Computer Science, Barachel in Economics and is pursing a second master in Digital Currency at the University of Nicosia (Cyprus).
Vanessa Almeida is the leader of the BNDES Blockchain Initiative. Master in computer science and postgraduate in economic and social development by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. With more than 15 years of experience in technology projects, she was one of the leaders of BNDES 'organizational transformation program. She is part of the first group of Columbia Women's Leardeship Network in Brazil. Vanessa believes that innovation and entrepreunership will transform BNDES and Brazil.
Alexandre Van de Sande is designer, has been working at Ethereum Foundation since 2014 and currently leads the development of Mist. Mist is a browser powered by smart contracts to create a more decentralized internet.
Carlos Lessandro Rischioto is a Blockchain Technical Leader in IBM Brazil, with more than 20 years of experience in information technology, specialized in Java, DevOps, integration and Cloud. He works with Blockchain since 2016, mainly in solution design, architecture, development, and Design Think Workshops. He also provides mentoring for startups in Brazil and USA, IBM's official Trainer and certification exams Developer. Rischioto is member of ABNT Special Committee for Blockchain, Member of SBC, ACM and IEEE.
Deepak Bhatia is a techno-banker with over 17 years of rich cross experience in the areas of Banking & Finance Sector. Double Post Graduate in Mathematics and Computer Application and also Certified Information Security Auditor. Currently handling IT Operations of Export-Import Bank of India and also steering committee member of BankChain which is the consortium of Indian Banks working on development of Blockchain based solution in Indian Banking industry. In 2014, Exim Bank has also won the prestigious Celent Model Bank award under his leadership.
Ismael Arribas studied law at the University of Valladolid and continuing at University Santo Domingo de Soto, worked at Citigroup, as Regional Director for Bankcards In 2006,he founded Kunfud® a Security Mercantile Agency that manages Corporate Security Control of companies´scope and activities, he is accredited expert for different Standardization Bodies like ISO, CEN-CENENLEC and ITU-T for the “Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies” Committees in those organizations. In 2017 he was appointed as President for the Spanish Chapter within the Government Blockchain Association https://www.gbaglobal.org Chairman of the Standard Committee at www.alastria.io .
Gabriela Andrade is a Financial Markets Lead Specialist at the Connectivity, Markets and Finance Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where she is working in topics related to Fintech, digital currencies, financial inclusion, gender issues in the financial sector and the use of guarantees to scale up private financing for development. Gabriela joined the IDB in 2006. An Ecuadorian citizen, Gabriela, holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics and International Development from McGill University in Montreal.
Dr. Gabriela Ruberg has over 20 years of experience in Brazilian civil service. She has master's and a doctoral degrees in Software Engineering and Computer Science. As the head of the Information Governance Office of the Brazilian Central Bank since its establishment in 2013, she has been leading major programs in data management, such as the open data, the MDM and data quality programs. She also led the PIER blockchain initiative to promote flexible and secure information exchange among regulators of the Brazilian financial system.
Leonardo Neves is na International Intelligence Analyst at the International Intelligence Unit from the Getulio Vargas Foundation and Lecturer at the Department of International Relations from the Ibmec College.He worked as Coordinator for Studies and Debates on the Brazilian Centre for International Relations (CEBRI), also worked together with the Civil Affairs Section of the Brazilian Joint Centre for Peacekeeping Operations (CCOPAB), from the Brazilian Armed Forces and was Executive Coordinator of the Group of Analysis on International Conflicts Prevention (GAPCon/UCAM).
Nayam Hanashiro is the Head of Partner Management for Brazil & Latin America for R3. Responsible for the partner regional strategy definition and execution, focusing on building and managing a strong partner ecosystem, driving Corda Blockchain adoption by IT related companies, and supporting business development activities. Graduated in Computer Engineering (UFSCar), Post-graduated in Corporate Finance & Investment Banking (FIA-USP), he’s been working in the Financial Industry for 10 years.
Mohamed Ibrahim is Somalia's former Minister of Posts and Telecommunication in Somalia. Founding Chairman of ISOC Somalia, Research Fellow at University of Melbourne, Mr. Ibrahim has been in the IT industry for more than two decades in numerous prestigious companies and positions, such as PNG Elcom, Kuwait Oil Company (80s-90s), UAE High-ed sector (2001-2007). Also in the Australian Public sector and CIO at Peninsula Health (1998-2003). Currently, he is working on four initiatives with four Australian universities to help Somalia in different areas such as constitution review, cybersecurity, ID and election systems.
Rafael Presa is a bachelor in business administration focused on digital transformation having professional certification in blockchain for business and being an IoT researcher at CNPq. Ambassador of IOTA to Brazil and member of the IOTA Evangelist Network organized and participated in major events of DLT in the country announcing the Tangle platform and its applications in the several verticals in which the IOTA protocol can be applied.
Ronnie Paskin is a researcher at Pontifica Universidade Catholica-Rio. He has worked in IT since 1987, is an electrical/computer engineer, specializing in Internet Technologies since 1994 since then, he have worked in several small startups (including his own) as well as large companies (CBSSports.com and Globo). He went on to be a teacher from 2014 through 2018, as well as technical advisor for a startup accelerator from 2013 to 2015. Since 2017, he has been a mentor at PUC-Rio's innovation program, and a researcher in cutting-edge technologies, especially focused in Blockchain and Smart Contracts.
Piet Kleffmann has been active in Development Cooperation throughout his whole career. Before joining KfW in 1998 he worked as Technical Advisor in Chad, Cameroon and Burkina Faso. At KfW Development Bank he was in charge of programs in Maghreb region and was later appointed Regional Manager of Southern Africa. Thereafter he took over the KfW Office in Kenya for 5 years. After developing the blockchain-based TruBudget Platform together with KfW`s Digital Office he took over a new Task Force to look into the use of blockchain technology in Development Cooperation.
Taynaah Reis is a self-taught software engineer who began her programming activities at the age of 12. She is currently the founder and CEO of Moeda – a fintech company that uses blockchain technology to revolutionize microfinance. In August 2017, Reis and her partners raised US$ 20 million over a two-week period, allocating US$10 million to fund projects. Reis was featured in Forbes as one of the 12 young most innovative leaders to watch and learn from in 2018.

Working with blockchain for the last 3 years he is a PhD dropout on the business side of Blockchain. Co-founder of EOS Rio, an active Block Producer on the EOS Main Net, and of the Blockchain Labs, Rio Blocks.
Wei Kai Director of Big Data Department, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology(CAICT). He is the vice chair of ITU-T Focus Group on Application of Distributed Ledger Technology (FG DLT) and the secretary-general of Trusted Blockchain Initiatives(TBI) China. He also serves as the Rapporteur of Question 21 and 22 under ITU-T Study Group 16.
